Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused leader to join our senior management team as the Head of JDT Power Ltd. Based at our Westerham office, this is a pivotal role where you will be directly accountable to the Managing Director and CEO for the strategic oversight and leadership of our power operations.

You will spearhead our electric cabling and civils engineering operations, ensuring we meet ambitious targets and KPIs while maintaining our uncompromising commitment to safety and efficiency. This is a bespoke opportunity for an industry expert to drive revenue growth, cultivate high-level client relationships, and lead a multi-disciplinary team of up to 20 staff and 50 sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Full management and administration of the Power Operations Group, including hiring, mentoring, and the professional development of Project Managers.

Strategic Growth: Increase revenue and operational profit by securing new tender awards and strengthening relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Safety and Standards: Lead the oversight of all electric cabling and civils engineering safety standards, including directing site audits, assurance checks, and leading "Stop for Safety" forums.

Performance Management: Drive the achievement of in-year operational plans, ensuring progress is accurately captured and reported to the Programme Manager.

Commercial Oversight: Deliver operations within allocated budgets and purchase powers while ensuring cost-effective utilisation of company assets.

Compliance: Ensure full adherence to external legislative, regulatory, and technical policies, as well as all internal Company SOPs.

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience: Extensive engineering experience within the power or utilities sector.

Certifications: IOSH Leading Safely and SHEA Power are mandatory requirements.

Leadership: Proven experience in managing large teams of PAYE staff and contracted workers.

Compliance: You must be able to obtain DBS clearance and SGN registration.

Preferred Skills: Familiarity with MS Project, Street Works Supervisor (Dual), SCO Levels 1, 2, and 5, and temporary works designs would be highly advantageous.

The Package

Salary: Bespoke/Competitive

Working Pattern: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Holiday: 25 days holiday plus 8 UK public holidays
